I feel ashamed

So for the first time in my life I bought a Westlife album!
Hyun Young and I were in Pascucci the other night and we were ordering drinks when she saw they had a Westlife album she didn't have, so guess who had to buy it for her!! I feel dirty having paid money for that!
Tomorrow is Independence Day so we're going on the river cruise followed by a trip to the movies. Mike is meeting us for a sushi lunch, mmmm sushi.

I'm so sweet!

On saturday I made pizza and pasta (everything totally homemade) and took it to Incheon airport for Hyun Young's dinner! Just to prove I made the pasta, here is the proof of it drying out!
Next Saturday, I'm taking her chilli, plus her colleagues were demanding food so I'm going to make them some cookies!
After the airport I went straight to Ugoh's house for our bbq steak party. I don't think I've ever eaten so much meat in my life! This was when Aaron decided to stand up in front of the whole team and tell them what I did earlier in the day! I left there at about 1030 and went to meet Hyun Young in Gangnam. That was when she discovered my, urrrrrmmm 'talent' for Noraebang!
On Sunday we had our final practise before the season starts next weekend. A little nervous as most of the guys have never played before, but we'll see!
Last night I had Chinese food. I think it was the first I've had since I've been here. The best part was Hyun Young had a coupon for free chicken! On Thursday it's a national holiday as it's independence day. Not sure what we'll do though, but a four day week is nice!

Does this song sound familiar?

It's from film about a 200 pound girl who becomes thin by plastic surgery (something all Koreans get!). It looks an entertaining film, but all my kids start singing the film!
Not much has happened this week. Kevin and I got put in charge of the Whailers so I've spent most of the week on the phone to various people. Add that to being called a gift from God by the girl from the airport who I've been seeing and it's been a good week, Haha!
On Tuesday I bought some new t-shirts. If I wear them with my Korean jeans, all I need now is a gay haircut and I'd look just like a real Korean!

Valentines Day in Korea

On February 14th girls give guys gifts, usually chocolate or something. Then on March 14th the guys give the girls something. It all means that girls are the ones who have to put in the initial effort!
I got a ton of chocolate from the girls in classes. I feel fat from eating it all!
In the evening I went out with MJ, Annie, Jenny and Leo for some steak. Steak in Korea involves having a pile of rice on your plate as a side!

Pizza Night

On Saturday night I had MJ, Annie and Mike over for James' homemade pizzas! It was a mission trying to cook them in my diddy little oven but they all turned out ok. Annie brought a $20 cheesecake with her which tasted so good, but meant we all felt a little full. Not to worry, we had wine, rum and beer to wash it down with!
The new Red Sox closing pitcher is unveiled!
I don't know what they're doing!!Striking our best Korean poses! That's my hat, give it back! Are we being taught how to do yoga or how to pray?Mike and MJ

On Sunday we played against Suwon. We lost 3-2 but only because the referee was useless and we gave away a stupid penalty. Also our strikers missed the world's easiest chances. We should have won by about 8-1!
Last night I decided to make my own pasta, not surprinsingly as I'm the greatest chef in the world, it turned out great!

Thursday Night Drinking!

We've started a new tradition of going out for drinks on Thursday nights. It means we only have to survive one day until the weekend! Mike and I are now addicted to the Ah Yoo Mi, some Korean/Japanese singer.

She's cute!
I've also, rather stupidly, agreed to cook pizzas for my two Korean girls, MJ and Annie on Saturday. I'm feeling the pressure now!
Sunday, we have football again. My leg still seems fine, which is nice for once!

It's football time!!

Sunday was the first day for me of pre-season. Four hours of football, fun but painful! I still can't bend over and have a huge lump on my foot!
I made pizzas last night, they were so good! I figured I'd better practise before MJ and Annie come round to try them. Nothing else to say right now, apart from Eddie Jones is back playing for Miami Heat!!

Celebrating Friday!

I got a call from MJ at lunchtime saying Mike and I should go out with her and Annie in the evening. I met up with them on my own as Mike had to work until late. I had a plate of bulgogi and rice as I'd been starving at work all day! A couple of beers later Mike joined us looking swanky in his shirt and tie. We went to a couple of bars and then decided to hit the Noraebang again! Because people complain I never send them pictures, here you go!

MJ dancing as punishment for not drinking her soju!

Mike and MJ

Annie and me, so sweet!!

Ah, this would be the soju drinking game. Whoever manages to flick the wire off the soju lid makes the next person drink a shot. I won both games so Mike had to drink both times!

Not sure why there's a teddy in the Noraebang. MJ enjoyed it all night though!

Note the microphone cover or 'condom'. We always practise safe Noraebanging!

Mike and I truly are the greatest Noraebang team ever!

And here's the evidence to prove it!
This isn't a bad team either!

Noraebang is the greatest thing ever!

I was in a foul mood at work yesterday because of something. MJ (the really cute Korean I teach) sent me a text saying I needed cheering up so we went out for a couple of drinks. At about ten o'clock Mike joined us and a couple of beers turned into a few soju cocktail shots and more beer and MJ brought her sister out. Then we decided to hit the Noraebang! A Noraebang is basically a Korean karaoke place. You rent a room for an hour and can have drinks served to you in that room. We decided it was Mike and I versus the girls. I think we were the winners with such wonderful songs as Wake me up before you go go, Africa, Obladi oblida,Sweet Caroline, Hey Jude and Boxer. It was great fun and we finished up eating some lovely gogi mandu. The best part is this all happened only two blocks from my apartment building so we didn't have far to go!!
Not sure what I'm going to do this weekend. I'm thinking of buying a Korean cookery book and trying out some stuff! We have football training on Sunday and I think my leg is finally ok to play, that's exciting!
